The IRASTIMES message board is becoming redundant. When IRASTIMES was launched, it was a revolutionary idea for many of us and we spent a great deal of time exchanging our thoughts and ideas. And the benefit was immediate. Because of IRASTIMES, we got our designations changed from Accounts Officer to Finance Manager.

There is virtually no interacation on the message boards now. We prefer interacting using the social networking sites. Is it not time for IRASTIMES to upgrade itself using Web 2.0 technology?

The Web 2.0 technology has caused a paradigm shift in Internet experience.
The new technology has immense potential for improving the communication, and if used creatively, it can be used for improving governance in our official duties also.
For example, we use diaries for TIA and ISA/ASV. Can we not use platforms like Twitter, for maintaining the diaries of our inspectorial staff. Our staff may find it difficult initially, but sooner rather than later, it would be accepted and adopted.

For starters, the entire management reporting system of MPR/BiMPR/FCDO etc can be upgraded using web 2.0 or even by using simple applications like Google Docs.
It would be so much more interactive, easy and effective and it is free of charge.
